Georgian judoka Luka Javakhishvili on Friday claimed a gold medal after defeating his Chinese rival Wang Jiangnan at the ongoing Dushanbe World Championships Juniors 2024, the Georgian Judo Federation said.

Javakhishvili gained his victory by ippon in the 81 kg weight category in the final of the tournament.

The Dushanbe World Championships Juniors has been taking place from October 2 to 6 in Tajikistan, with the participation of 531 judokas from 67 countries.
