Georgian PM attends Legends Team football match in Tbilisi

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Government members on Saturday attended the second friendly match of the Legends Series between former players of the Georgian national team and AC Milan, at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in the capital city of Tbilisi.

The game featured retired footballers and internationally celebrated stars like Kakha Kaladze, Zurab Khizanishvili, Levan Kobiashvili, Aleksandre Iashvili, Shota Arveladze, and Davit Mujiri in the Georgian squad, and Dida, Cafu, Serginho, Kaká, Rivaldo, and Alessandro Costacurta representing the AC Milan.

The fixture was organised by the Georgian Football Federation and Tbilisi City Hall, following an agreement with Fondazione Milan, the charitable foundation of the Italian club.

Kaladze, who played for Milan from 2001 to 2010, described the event  as a "celebration" for Georgia’s football team and its supporters.

The match ended with a 3:1 victory for the Milan legends in a penalty shootout after the teams were tied 2:2 when the referee concluded the game in the 75th minute.

Before the beginning of the match, the Georgian Paralympic athletes, who won medals at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games, presented their trophies to the supporters at the stadium.
