Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said Georgia’s capital Tbilisi needed a new, 70,000-capacity stadium to host top-level games including the UEFA Champions League final.

The head of the Government said building the new venue would be a “unique opportunity” for the country and have a “very positive impact” on its image, adding the Government was planning to facilitate the project.

Kobakhidze also reviewed the “depreciated” condition of the long-standing Dinamo Arena in the capital and said relevant agencies would “provide the public with detailed information” on the subject.
