The National Agency of State Property of Georgia is set to hand over residential premises to 220 internally displaced families across the country, the body said on Wednesday.
In total, 239 units of property will be legalised for families in the capital city of Tbilisi and other cities and municipalities of the country.
Spaces such as attics and basements that have been non-commercially utilised by residents will be transferred to three cooperatives of flat owners in Tbilisi. These cooperatives unite 469 displaced families, comprising a total of 1,435 individuals, the Agency said.
The decision to transfer the properties was made in response to a petition from the Internally Displaced Persons, Ecomigrants and Livelihood Agency, while the Ministry of Economy decided to legalise the residential areas and plots of land for their rightful owners.
