Customs officers seize $29,231 in undeclared gold on Turkey, Armenia, Russia borders

Georgian customs officers seized $29,231 in undeclared gold items earlier this month at the Sarpi customs checkpoint on Georgia's south-western border with Turkey, the Sadakhlo border crossing points on the southern border with Armenia and Kazbegi checkpoint on the Russia-Georgia border in the north, the Revenue Service said.

 The Service said “large amounts” of gold jewellery items with a weight of 671,15 grams in total were seized during physical and luggage searches of Georgian and foreign citizens at the checkpoints.
