Lithuania appoints new Ambassador to Georgia

Darius Vitkauskas has been appointed as the new Ambassador to Georgia by the decree of the Lithuanian President.

Vitkauskas, replacing Andrius Kalindra in the position, has assumed the post from August 6, the Embassy of Lithuania in Georgia said on Wednesday.

In his previous capacity, Vitkauskas held the position of the Director of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policy Department of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2018 to 2021, he served as the Consul General of Lithuania in Almaty and worked in the diplomatic missions of the country in Belarus, Belgium, Russia and Ukraine.
