Georgia’s Tech Agency, EU launch IT sector development project in country’s regions

Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency is launching an information technology sector development project in the country’s regions, the Agency said on Saturday.

Within the scope of the Do IT with the EU project financed by the European Union, the GITA will hold information meetings in 10 regions of Georgia, aiming to strengthen regional IT ecosystems, develop the information technology sector and strengthen digital skills across the country.

During the meetings, Georgia’s tech agency will introduce the benefits of the project and the growing potential of information technology to local IT specialists and all interested persons, including sharing information on training programs, international certification and employment opportunities, the GITA noted, adding this would encourage technological innovation throughout the country.

The meetings will be held from August 12 through 21 in Georgia's western cities of Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Ozurgeti, the southwestern city of Akhaltsikhe, the Black Sea city of Batumi, the north-western city of Ambrolauri, Kaspi in the east part of the country, ancient capital city of Mtskheta, the eastern city of Telavi in Kakheti region, and the southeast city of Rustavi.
