Italian Innovation and Research Day, dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the Italian scientist and Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi-Montalcini, will be marked in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi on Monday, with representatives of various institutions, academic and entrepreneurial circles to attend the event.
The event, organised by the Italian Embassy in Georgia and the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency and aimed at further enhancing the ties between the two countries in the fields of technology and innovations, will be opened by the Italian Ambassador Massimiliano D'Antuono, the Deputy Economy Minister Irakli Nadareishvili and Avtandil Kasradze, the Chair of GITA.
Luigi Nicolais, the President of the Italian technological innovation foundation COTEC, and Antonio Giacomini, the Chief Executive Officer of Innovaway, an Italian leading IT service provider for digital transformation, will also participate in the event remotely, the Italian Embassy said.
Tiziano Camporesi, the representative of the scientific research centre European Organisation for Nuclear Research and physics researcher and the honorary professor of Boston University, as well as Irina Tsagareishvili, the Director of Georgian tech startup Axel - Georgian Business Angel Network, will deliver presentations for the guests.
Winners of STEM Study Visits to Italy, the competition jointly organised by COTEC and GITA, will be awarded at the event.
