The Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency on Monday hosted the annual celebration of Italian Innovation and Research Day at one of its tech venues in Tbilisi.
As part of the agreement signed between the GITA and the Italian technological innovation foundation COTEC, the winners of the STEM Study Visit to Italy project were awarded at the event. They will undergo a three-month free training course in Italy’s leading innovation centre, the Agency said.
The event, dedicated to the deepening of cooperation between Italy and Georgia in the scientific and technological fields, was attended by representatives of various institutions, academic and entrepreneurial circles.
Italian Ambassador to Georgia Massimiliano D'Antuono and Avtandil Kasradze, the Chair of GITA, addressed the guests, after which Tiziano Camporesi, the representative of the scientific research centre European Organisation for Nuclear Research and physics researcher and the honorary professor of Boston University, and Irina Tsagareishvili, the Director of Georgian tech startup Axel - Georgian Business Angel Network, delivered presentations.
The celebration of Italian Innovation and Research Day is marked on the birthday anniversaries of Italian inventor Leonardo da Vinci and Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi-Montalcini.
