Georgian judo wrestler Tato Grigalashvili will compete in the semifinal of the 81 kg category at the Summer Olympic Games on Tuesday following a string of victories in the knockout rounds.
Grigalashvili will face South Korea’s Lee Joon-hwan in the semifinal round, which will come after his 1:0 win in the quarterfinal against Tajikistan’s Somon Makhmadbekov.
The three-time World Champion also defeated Austria’s Wachid Borchashvili in the last 16 round 10:0, after his win over Moldova’s Mihail Latisev in the round of 32 with the same score.
Judoka Lasha Bekauri will on Wednesday compete in the round of 16 of the 90 kg category.
Georgia is represented by 28 athletes at the Olympics, with the Games running between July 26-August 11.
