Georgian FM says invitation to US President’s reception at NATO Summit an “honour”

Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said it was an “honour” for him to be invited to a reception marking the 75th anniversary of NATO in Washington and hosted on behalf of the United States President Joe Biden on Tuesday.
In his social media post, Darchiashvili emphasised he was “glad” that the flag of Georgia was “represented in the alliance of strong partners”.
The top Georgian diplomat will also participate in a meeting of foreign ministers in a format of partner countries on Wednesday, the Georgian foreign office said.
Darchiashvili will also attend other events planned within the bloc’s Summit and hold bilateral meetings.
