Georgian PM warns UNM opposition against country’s “Ukrainisation”

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday claimed the United National Movement opposition party wanted to see “the scenario developed in Ukraine” take place in the country and pledged his Government would do “everything” to avoid its “Ukrainisation”.

I want to assure representatives of the United National Movement that the Ukrainian scenario will not develop in Georgia and the Ukrainisation of Georgia will not happen under any circumstances. We will do everything to avoid it”, he said.

The PM last Tuesday said his Government’s support for Ukraine had been manifested through endorsements of “various pro-Ukraine decisions” in international forums amid the ongoing war.

The Government head, who was featuring in the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, said the Government’s “political position” towards Ukraine was “very solid and very clear”.
