The Georgian National Tourism Administration on Tuesday announced the launch of a new project to develop souvenirs as a tourist product for the country, with its Head Maia Omiadze meeting with industry professionals to introduce the project earlier today.

The project will focus on utilising cultural and natural resources to identify key symbols for use in souvenirs, aiming to create new collections with “high-quality modern visuals and handicrafts”.

The initiative will aim to “effectively position” Georgia as a tourist destination in the global market.

The Administration said work on the project would be carried out through working groups, with the initial focus on collaboratively identifying symbols alongside industry professionals.
