Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, on Thursday said the country’s participation in Madrid Fusión, an upcoming gastronomy fair in the Spanish capital, would contribute to establishing business ties between tourism insiders and promoting Georgia as a visitor destination.
Omiadze said along with the Administration, the Adjara Tourism Department of the western region and private sector would be represented at the event between January 29-31.
The fair will last five days and we have the opportunity to promote our country and establish business relations. We have meetings with international media platforms, such as National Geographic, as well as airlines and tourism companies”, she said.
The official added the event would be “very successful” and attract “many” international travellers to Georgia.
The Georgian stand will feature food, wine and tourist products, with “Show Kitchen” also integrated in the national stand.
Master classes on Georgian dishes and wine tasting will be hosted on the main stage of the fairgrounds under the Guest Country status.
Georgia will be highlighted at the event alongside culinary attractions from countries ranging from Switzerland to Argentina and Colombia to South Korea.
The fair’s social media channels are highlighting the Guest Country of this year's event prior to the exhibition.
