Gia Volski, the First Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Friday claimed President Salome Zourabichvili was “protecting a sabotage mode”, after the latter on Thursday vetoed amendments to the election code for reducing the required quorum for decisions at the Central Election Commission from two-thirds quorum to a majority of the body’s full composition.

“According to the election code, decisions were made by the CEC with two thirds of votes, but the balance of political parties and persons elected on professional grounds indicates that the opposition, in case of any technical decision, can turn its activities into sabotage mode and stop the CEC from making a decision on any issue”, Volski alleged.
