Tbilisi City Hall on Tuesday said heavy overnight rainfall had caused damage to road infrastructure, uprooted trees and collapsed slopes in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi.
Gldani district was affected by the rainfall the most, it added.
The City Hall said yards in a settlement of Mukhiani cottages in the outskirts of the city were also “particularly affected”, with river Gldanula flooding a yard of a local resident.

The City Hall added traffic would be redirected using Kakutsa Cholokashvili highway, Sulkhan Tsintsadze and Tamarashvili streets.
Tbilisi City Hall said heavy rainfall and strong wind late on Tuesday affected Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, causing damage to electricity cables and flooding streets and underpasses.
Strong winds and heavy rainfall affected municipalities in western Georgian regions between Monday and Tuesday, causing damage to buildings, and causing floods and landslides in some areas.
The City Hall for the city of Khashuri in the south-western Georgian municipality of the same name on Wednesday said about 10 individuals and 40 families had been evacuated from a landslide risk zone in the town of Surami.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds affected municipalities in western Georgian regions between Monday and Tuesday, causing damage to buildings and floods in residential homes.
