The Emergency Management Service of Georgia has received modern firefighting equipment from its Danish counterparts under the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package, aimed at helping the body to respond effectively to forest fires, the Service said on Saturday.
The equipment handover ceremony was attended by the head of the Fire-Rescue Forces Department Davit Sukhishvili, Colonel Norbert Hess, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Georgia to NATO, and Colonel Susan Christensen, the leader of the crisis management initiative of the NATO-Georgia Package.
In its comments, the Service noted it “actively continues” cooperation with its European partners to provide firefighters with all necessary equipment for their work.
