Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Friday discussed the existing close cooperation and neighbourly, strategic partnership with Armenia in his meetings with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Grigor Minasyan, the Justice Minister of the country.
At the meeting held on the sidelines of the 5th Armenian-Georgian Legal Forum in Yerevan, Bregadze and Pashinyan noted that the good neighbourly relations between the two countries were confirmed by the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to Armenia last month and by signing a memorandum on strategic partnership in January.
The parties discussed the importance of legal cooperation in the South Caucasus region and the reforms carried out in the field of the rule of law, the Justice Ministry said.
Bregadze highlighted Georgia’s extensive experience acquired in various fields in cooperation with the European Union and noted the country was “ready” to share this experience with Armenia.
The significance of ensuring legal security in the format of the existing strategic partnership and deepening sectoral ties were in focus of the meeting between the Georgian Justice Minister and his Armenian counterpart, who also discussed the simplification of legal regulations between the states.
The sides also pointed out mutually achieved results and current reforms and reviewed new initiatives to enhance the cooperation between the justice ministries of Georgia and Armenia.
As part of his visit to Armenia, Bregadze also met with Ruben Rubinyan, the Chair of the Armenia-Georgia Friendship Group of the Armenian Parliament, discussing intensive ties between the two countries.
