Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan discussed “friendly and neighbourly” relations between the two countries in Yerevan on Monday.

The officials noted their countries were “connected by active cooperation in many directions”, including trade, transport and tourism, the Government Administration said.

The Georgian PM thanked Pashinyan for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, and in turn confirmed Georgia's support for the territorial integrity of Armenia.

Kobakhidze also emphasised his country “strongly” supported “peaceful coexistence” in the South Caucasus region, and expressed readiness to “play a positive role” for the outcome.

The sides also said they hoped the strategic partnership of the two countries would contribute to further deepening the cooperation and bring “tangible benefits”.

After their face-to-face meeting, the sides continued discussions in an extended format with the participation of government officials.

During the meetings Kobakhidze also invited Pashinyan to Georgia.
