Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and his Government delegation were on Friday hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.
An official ceremony of welcoming the head of the Georgian Government was hosted in the Federal Chancellery, Kobakhidze’s press office said.
The two officials will meet in a face-to-face discussion and in an extended format before making comments for press.
The head of the Georgian Government will also meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Bärbel Bas, the President of Bundestag, during his visit to the country.
The delegation also includes Irakli Chikovani, the Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Minister and Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Government Administration.
Levan Izoria, the Georgian Ambassador to Germany, on Friday highlighted Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s ongoing visit to Berlin by saying it would give a “new impetus” to bilateral relations.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other officials after launching his visit to the country on Thursday alongside a Government delegation.
The existing partnership and positive dynamics of bilateral relations between Georgia and Germany were discussed on Tuesday by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to the country.
Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to Georgia, on Friday said members of the European Union “must” make it “stronger”, adding Georgia “must be part of it”.
