Parliament Committee Chair, EBA President highlight importance of Georgia's economic integration with EU

Maka Botchorishvili, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's European Union Integration Committee and John Braeckeveldt, the President of the European Business Association in Georgia, on Tuesday highlighted the importance of promoting the country’s economic integration with the European Union.

The officials discussed the country’s significance in the region, as well as the perspectives of the Middle Corridor, a multimodal transport corridor connecting China to Europe through the South Caucasus, the Parliament of Georgia said.

Within the framework of EU business platforms, the promotion of Georgia’s active involvement, strengthening of sectoral cooperation, transit potential and business environment in the country were also reviewed by the sides.

The conversation touched on the progress achieved by Georgia in fulfilling the obligations taken under the Agreement on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU.
