Genadi Arveladze, the Deputy Economy Minister of Georgia, on Monday held official meetings in Brussels to discuss recommendations for the European Union enlargement package of 2023.
The Ministry of Economy on Tuesday said the meetings discussed the recommendations related to the functioning of the internal market.
Specifically, thematic meetings were held on evaluations and recommendations provided by the chapters of free movement of goods, enterprise and industrial policy, right of establishment and freedom to provide services, public procurement, competition policy, agriculture and rural development, environment and climate change and food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy”, the body said.
The Ministry said officials from the EU made clarifications on the expectations related to the steps that Georgia, as a candidate country, should take in order to show further progress.
The Georgian side will continue to implement the recommendations, with “relevant progress” to be reflected in the next evaluation of the EU, scheduled for the end of the year, the Ministry said.
