Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said he was in agreement with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan on expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaking at a press briefing after their in Yerevan, Kobakhidze said the two officials discussed deepening bilateral cooperation.
We had a conversation about various aspects of cooperation between our countries [in] various dimensions - cooperation from a political point of view, trade, economy, transport, tourism and so on. It is very important to further develop and deepen our partnership in all these directions”, he said.
The Georgian PM also highlighted “centuries-old friendly relations” between the countries.
We signed an agreement on strategic partnership [in January], which took our cooperation to a qualitatively different level. This declaration is primarily aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation, promoting peace and stability in the region. The declaration is based on our common values and principles, it expresses our unwavering support for these values”, he said.
Kobakhidze told the media he had thanked Pashinyan for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia during the meeting.
On behalf of our country, I once again confirmed our country's unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia”, he added.
Lastly, Kobkahidze said it was a “great honour” to be on the official visit to Armenia shortly after assuming the post of the Prime Minister.
