Georgia will host various events within the framework of the Francophonie Week from March 18 to March 24, organised by the French Institute of Georgia, the embassies of France, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada, and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The guests of the Francophonie Week will discover and get acquainted with Francophone culture in Georgia's capital Tbilisi, the south-western city of Khashuri, Kutaisi in western Georgia and the Black Sea city of Batumi.
The main topics of the events will be sports, gastronomy, dance, literature and cinema, the French Embassy in Georgia said, noting that during the week competitions for students would be held and French language teachers would have the opportunity to receive scholarships to travel to France for a two-week teaching internship.
