Georgian PM arrives in Baku on his first official visit to Azerbaijan

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday arrived in the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku to launch his first official visit to the country.

Kobakhidze was welcomed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Ali Ahmadov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and the country’s other officials, the Government Administration said.

Before making statements to the media, the Georgian PM will have face-to-face and extended format meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Zagulba Presidential Residence.

The Head of the Government is also set to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.

The Georgian delegation will honour the memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and will lay a wreath at the Eternal Flame Memorial.

The delegation, led by the PM, features the country’s Vice PM and Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
