Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday extended his gratitude to “all friendly partner countries” for their support of the state’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and for their help for Georgia to “successfully continue” its policy of non-recognition of its Russian-occupied regions.
Darchiashvili’s comments followed the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock urging German citizens to refrain from travelling to the Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.
“Georgia has a very successful policy of non-recognition. We have seen the results of this policy in recent years”, Darchiashvili said.
He credited the “strong support of our friends and partners” as the “main formula” for the success of the policy.
