Rati Ionatamishvili, a member of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Saturday said the party’s decision to host a working meeting with the engagement of the representatives of the domestic opposition and the civil sector over the implementation of the priorities set out by the European Commission in November was “a demonstration of responsible attitude” of the GD party.

In his comments to the media, Ionatamishvili noted the participation of the representatives of radical and other domestic opposition parties was “an obligation they must fulfil - a commitment they have previously sidestepped until this point”

The radical opposition’s decision to start fulfilling their duty by being involved in the implementation process of the EU conditions will be “an acknowledgment” from them that their “attempts to sabotage” the process were “a serious mistake” and “a political crime committed against Georgia”.

The working meeting on the implementation of the EU’s nine priorities will be hosted by the Georgian Parliament on Monday.

The meeting, involving MPs from the ruling GD party, representatives of the opposition and the civil sector, comes following the Government's unveiling in late December of an action plan for meeting the nine conditions.
