The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia on Friday said one individual had been charged with selling low-quality detergents in the capital city of Tbilisi and Rustavi, a city south-east of the capital, through unlawful use of trademarks.
The Office seized 16,982 litres and 5,457 kg of products illegally branded as Ariel, Perwoll, Fairy, Alo, Domestos and Persil, with the total value of ₾78,023 ($29,279)
The body said “appropriate measures” were being carried out in order to identify other individuals involved.
The crime is publishable by two years in prison.
