The bilateral cooperation was discussed on Tuesday in an introductory meeting between Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Anna Lyberg, the Swedish Ambassador to the country.
Khutsishvili thanked Lyberg for the Swedish Government’s assistance in developing various fields in Georgia, including democratic governance, protection of human rights, education sector, environment protection, as well as the development of trade and private sectors.
The parties highlighted the ongoing projects of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency in Georgia, the Finance Ministry said.

Georgian official briefed the Swedish diplomat on the country’s economic and fiscal parameters and future priorities.
In her turn, Lyberg congratulated Georgia on receiving the European Union membership candidate status in December 2023, and positively evaluated the long-term cooperation between Sweden and Georgia.
She also expressed readiness to promote the deepening of the partnership between the two countries during her term as an Ambassador.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Finance Minister Ekaterine Guntsadze and Erik Illes, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Swedish Embassy and the representative of SIDA in Georgia.
