Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Wednesday met representatives from Bank of America on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Ministry of Economy said the meeting focused on economic trends in Georgia, ways to overcome challenges in the wider region, and “new prospects” of cooperation.
The body added the meeting also discussed the current situation in the Georgian financial sector, “significant progress” and opportunities created in the country in recent years.
It was noted Georgia had a “developed, profitable and highly liquid” banking sector, while structural reforms were underway to develop the capital market and establish the country as a multidimensional financial hub.
Davitashvili invited the Bank to send a delegation to Georgia to “explore opportunities on site” and meet representatives of local public and private agencies.
The meeting also involved Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Georgian Government Administration.
