Tornike Rizhvadze, the Head of the regional Government of Georgia’s western city of Adjara, on Wednesday opened a stand promoting adventure tourism in the region on fairgrounds of ITB Berlin, a major international tourism fair showcasing Georgia as its Host Country.
Tourism and investment opportunities of Georgia and its Black Sea region were introduced to visitors of the launch event, with Rizhvadze highlighting the double-digit economic growth and dynamics of tourism recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also noted expectations for both hosting increasing numbers of tourists and ensuring economic trends for the current year were “even more ambitious and positive”.
This year’s edition of ITB Berlin is running under the theme of “Infinite Hospitality” and showcasing Georgian tourism destinations, culture, cuisine and performing arts to visitors from 180 countries.

The National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, City Hall of capital Tbilisi, destination management organisations and the United Airports of Georgia are involved in highlighting the country’s tourism potential at the event.
ITB Berlin started on Tuesday and will come to an end on Thursday in the German capital.
Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey on Monday welcomed a Georgian delegation and the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to the launch of ITB, a major international tourism fair celebrating Georgia as its Host Country, and expressed a “great desire” to make “Georgians feel at home in Berlin”.

Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Monday highlighted Georgia’s achievements in tourism, economy, trade, transport, energy and other fields at a press briefing to about 200 figures from international media just hours before the opening gala of ITB Berlin, the world’s major international tourism fair that is showcasing Georgia as its Host Country in the German capital.
Today Berlin is preparing for the world's largest tourist exhibition, 2023 ITB Berlin, which will start on Monday with an official opening ceremony. Georgia has a special status at the international fair, featuring as the Host Country under the theme “Infinite Hospitality” at ITB Berlin this year. The advertising messages about Georgia and the images of its wonderful sights can be easily noticed by any visitor at the Berlin airport as well as in the streets of the city.
Maia Kiknadze, the Director of Caucasus Travel company, on Saturday hailed the “extraordinary” presentation of Georgian culture, cuisine and sights at ITB Berlin, a major international tourism fair, which showcased Georgia as its Host Country.
