Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey on Monday welcomed a Georgian delegation and the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to the launch of ITB, a major international tourism fair celebrating Georgia as its Host Country, and expressed a “great desire” to make “Georgians feel at home in Berlin”.
The Georgian Government Administration cited Giffey as saying she was glad to see Georgia as assume the status for the international event.
Georgia and Berlin have many similarities and I want to say that we have a very long and important history of relations. Georgia was a special guest at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2018 and a lot was done in this direction. Now I have the opportunity to get to know this wonderful country once again”, Giffey said.
