Georgian PM, FM attend official dinner of Munich Security Conference

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the country’s Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili attended an official dinner, together with heads of states invited for the Munich Security Conference, the Government Administration said on Sunday.
The state dinner was hosted on behalf of Markus Söder, the Bavarian Minister-President, in honour of the participants of the Conference.
Garibashvili on Saturday participated in the Conference’s panel discussion on Building Security in the South Caucasus, with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The Head of the Government also held high-level meetings with the foreign officials and heads of international companies.
Georgia has been pursuing a peaceful resolution policy to restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity and there is no alternative to peace, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Saturday at the thematic panel discussion on Building Security in the South Caucasus, held within the scope of the Munich Security Conference, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
First of all, thank you for organising this panel discussion. It is a very good initiative and historic meeting, as you mentioned, when three leaders of the South Caucasus get together. I think it is already a successful meeting and thank you for organising this discussion. When it comes to the war in Ukraine, of course, this is a big challenge for all of us. It was announced by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia at a panel discussion held within the scope of the Munich Security Council today.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Helga Maria Schmid, the Secretary General of Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe on Saturday discussed Georgia’s role and involvement in maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus region and the country’s commitment to continue “active participation” in the process of ensuring sustainable and stable development of the region.
The “solid partnership” and “close” friendly relations in various directions between Georgia and Germany were discussed on Saturday by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in a meeting held within the framework of the ongoing Munich Security Conference.
Maria Schmid, the Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, on Sunday tweeted her organisation shared the Georgian Government’s “continued commitment” to the Geneva International Discussions on the conflicts in the territory of the country and pledged a further strengthening of the existing cooperation.
