NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday said the alliance’s allied states had agreed to “step up partnership” with partners like Georgia.

In his remarks ahead of a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels, Stoltenberg noted it was “important” to support partners countries that are “vulnerable” to “Russian interventions”.

I think that one of the lessons we have learned already from the war in Ukraine is the importance of providing support to partners sooner than later”, Stoltenberg said.

“Allies have agreed to step up our partnership with partners like Georgia, and we are now working on how to step up support related to cyber [security], crisis management and secure communication. Tailored partnership, tailored support is part of what we do with partners like Georgia”, the bloc’s leader added.
