The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs on Monday launched an investigation after emergency services received a report on an explosion off the coast of Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi.

The Ministry said mine diffusion teams and firefighting and rescue crews were present at the scene.

Law enforcement units were also sent to the scene, the body added.
