Matters related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between the Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze and Li Junhua, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.
Bregadze noted the SDGs were responding to global challenges, adding their implementation at the national level was “critical” to building a democratic society, the Ministry said.
The meeting also stressed that “quick, equal and inclusive” access to public services was “essential”.
The Georgian official noted “fast, efficient and user-friendly” public services were the “hallmark” of his Ministry, the availability of which was being “constantly improved”.
He highlighted the introduction of digital and innovative technology and further pointed out the Ministry provided more than 470 services throughout the country through 118 Justice House permanent venues and Mobile Justice House services.
Residents of rural locations across Georgia have the opportunity to receive “all services” without leaving their homes through the latter service, the Georgian official also noted.
