Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday thanked the Romanian Parliament for adopting a resolution on the European perspective of Georgia.

In his social media post, Papuashvili extended his “heartfelt” gratitude to Nicolae Ciucă, the President of the Senate of Romania and the lawmaking body for their “unwavering support” in adopting the resolution.

At this crucial time for our nation’s European aspirations, your solidarity holds immense significance. The endorsement from both chambers of the Romanian Parliament is invaluable as we navigate this pivotal phase on our journey towards EU accession”, Papuashvili’s post said.

The resolution, on the European perspective of Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia and Western Balkans, was adopted at a plenary session of the Romanian Parliament and emphasised the country, as a strategic partner of Georgia, was confirming its “strong support” for the latter’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
