Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Asian Development Bank, on Tuesday arrived in Georgia, on his first official visit to the country, to participate in the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Forum.
The visiting official was welcomed by Deputy Finance Minister Ekaterine Guntsadze and Deputy Economy Minister Genadi Arveladze, the Finance Ministry said.
In his social media post, Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili said he was “delighted” to greet and welcome Asakawa to the country.

We will have a great opportunity to see the #preparations made for the #57TH #Annual #Meeting of the #ADB scheduled to take place in #Tbilisi on May 2-5, 2024.
Asakawa will address the CAREC Forum, hosted in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, and will meet with the members of the Government’s economic team.
As part of his visit to the country, the ADB President will get acquainted with the organisational work of the 57th annual meeting of the ADB, scheduled to take place in Tbilisi between May 2 and 5, 2024.
