Natia Turnava, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, on Monday met Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to the country, to discuss the “strategic partnership” between the two states.
The NBG said Turnava informed Dunnigan on ongoing projects in the domestic financial sector, while the meeting also focused on the resumption of the International Monetary Fund-supported Stand-By Arrangement for Georgia “in the shortest time”. The programme was suspended in September.
We talked about the close relations and cooperation between the National Bank and the US Embassy, and the US Agency for International Development. The National Bank has active cooperation with the USAID in various directions”, Turnava said.
The NBG said the introductory meeting noted the United States’ status as the “most important strategic partner” of Georgia.
