Tatia Aptsiauri, the Vice President of the Georgian Fencing Federation and member of the Referee Commission at the International Wheelchair Fencing Federation, has been appointed as a referee delegate for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
Revealing the news on Monday, the Georgian Paralympic Committee said Aptsiauri had been selected for the position by World Abilitysport, an international organisation for development of Para sports.
Set to run between August 28-September 8, the Games will include 22 categories, with wheelchair fencing running between September 3-7.
Aptsiauri became an international category referee in 2013. She was appointed by the IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Executive Committee as a referee for the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020.
