The Georgian judo team claimed five medals at the European U23 Judo Championships, including two gold, two silver and one bronze medals, with two Georgian athletes meeting each other in an all-Georgian final of the tournament.

Saba Inaneishvili became the European champion, defeating Irakli Demetrashvili in the +100 kg weight category of the tournament, with Demetrashivili winning the silver medal for the national team.

Another Georgian judoka Zaur Dvalashvili defeated his Belgian rival Jarne Duyck and claimed the gold medal in the 81 kg category of the tournament, which ran from Friday to Saturday in the German city of Potsdam.

Georgia’s 18-year-old Nino Loladze also became the winner of the silver medal at the championship in the 57 kg weight category among girls, while Kote Kapanadze defeated Ukrainian Yevhen Honcharko in the bronze medal match of the 73 kg category.
