Georgian judoka Vazha Margvelashvili on Tuesday claimed a gold medal at the 2023 Judo Grand Slam Abu Dhabi.

Margvelashvili defeated his Uzbek rival Mukhriddin Tilovov in extra time of the -66 kg category final, claiming the first medal for the Georgian national judo team at the tournament.

The United Arab Emirates is hosting the Grand Slam from Tuesday to Thursday.
