Election Commission Chair: CEC acknowledged at int’l level, winning 3 awards at Lisbon symposium

Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chair of the Central Election Commission, on Friday said the Commission had won three awards at the 19th International Electoral Affairs Symposium, as a recognition of the CEC’s activities carried out in a “proper, fair, and transparent environment following international standards”.

The CEC deserved the awards in the categories of Electoral Commission of the Year, Election Management and Electoral Conflict Management, Kalandarishvili noted.

The CEC Chair pointed out the activities carried out at a high professional level, including informing voters, introducing technology in voting, dealing with disinformation and managing elections.

The two-day symposium was held in Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon, where Kalandarishvili delivered a presentation and informed participants on the work of the Election Administration of Georgia, discussing the future of elections and electronic voting.
