The Government of Georgia on Monday approved construction of wind and solar power plants, transfer of over 305 hectares of agricultural land plots to 14 leases and restructuring of the youth affairs state agency at its weekly meeting.
The Administration said a 30 MW wind power station was planned to be built in the central Shida Kartli region in a project cost of over $45 million, with a solar power plant, earmarked for the same region, set to have the capacity of 6,259 MW and cost $4.06 million.
The Government also approved a decree initiated by the Ministry of Economy and involving the transfer of arable land plots located in the municipalities of Khoni, Zugdidi, Mtskheta, Dusheti, Khobi, Gardabani, Abashi, Gori, Sighnaghi and Sagarejo to 14 leases.
The land plots have been transferred to the tenants in accordance with the state programme Access to Agricultural Land Resources, on the basis of payment of 75 percent of the property value”, the Administration said, adding the total privatisation amount was ₾3,085,206 ($1,144,887).
In a change of ministry structures, the Youth Affairs Agency will be moved from the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth to the Ministry of Education and Science, with the latter renamed to incorporate the addition of the new office.
