Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Sunday said it was in the Georgian Government’s “interest” to hold the 2024 Parliamentary Elections “at the highest standard”.
In an interview with Imedi TV, Darchiashvili said his Government was interested in implementing related recommendations of international organisations.
The electronic voting system is a huge breakthrough. A lot of tangible results have been achieved, the novelty has been introduced, and I am sure that next year's elections will be exemplary and will be properly assessed”, Darchiashvili said in reference to the new technology.
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili earlier this month said the Elections would be an “object of observation”, and highlighted the importance of ensuring “a lot of engagement” to counter a “huge flood of disinformation”.
