Priority directions and activities for the Tax Inspectors Without Borders programme were discussed on Friday in a meeting between Paata Kiladze, the Deputy Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, and Sami Koskinen, the coordinator and expert of the programme.

The Ministry said Kiladze highlighted the importance of sharing information on international taxation and improving quality of inspections in the discussion over the action plan of the programme, which is run as a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations Development Programme to support countries in building tax audit capacity.

The official also mentioned the importance for the Service’s Dispute Department employees to be introduced to conducting international tax disputes.

The TIWB programme provides a unique opportunity to gain experience. We expect that the involvement of an experienced expert will lead not only to achieving desired results in specific cases, but also to employees of related departments receiving theoretical knowledge through trainings”, he said.

Samson Uridia, the Head of the Revenue Service’s International Relations Department, Zaza Tabagari, the Head of the Analytical Department and Zaal Tkeshalashvili, the Head of the Audit Department were present at the meeting in Tbilisi.
