Startups for raising employment efficiency, improving students’ access to accommodation and enabling individuals and businesses to find qualified freelancers are among projects unveiled as winners of the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency’s grant programme.

The GITA on Thursday revealed 20 winners had been selected to receive ₾150,000 ($55,393) each, noting the startups were chosen by an investment committee composed of “high-level international venture investors”.

The selected projects also involve initiatives enabling horse riding guides to digitise their services, offering a digital space for medical consumers and providers, and more.

Announced in July by the GITA, the programme involved funding for 159 projects across 10 rounds hosted so far, while the top 20 startups in the 11th round were chosen by foreign experts, with the finalists, trained by international professionals, pitching their ideas to the jury.

The programme aims to develop innovative products and services of “international potential” in Georgia, their commercialisation, and stimulation of creation of innovative enterprises.
