Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday highlighted hosting his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts Ali Asadov and Nikol Pashinyan at the fourth edition of the Silk Road Forum, an event featuring more than 2,000 delegates and guests from up to 60 foreign states in the Georgian capital.
In his social media post Garibashvili said he was “glad” to host the officials, with the discussions covering the “future” of the South Caucasus region and “large-scale” regional projects, the implementation of which was in the “common interests”.
Garibashvili said within “peace initiatives” revealed by him while addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York last month, his Government was “ready to ensure peace, stability, and economic development in the region for the benefit of the countries”.

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov on Friday acknowledged talks for peace and development in the South Caucasus region organised by the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the ongoing Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday hosted heads of delegations participating in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum at a gala dinner, the Government Administration said.
The “strong, strategic partnership” between Georgia and Azerbaijan and “the centuries-old good neighbourly relations” were discussed on Thursday by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.
Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian Prime Minister, highlighted the importance of peace at the ongoing Tbilisi Silk Road Forum by stressing it would be “very complicated to build any bridge” without it, and adding the South Caucasus region was in need of a “lasting peace”.
