The Tbilisi Silk Road Forum will strengthen regional cooperation, strengthen and improve investments, Roberta Casali, the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank, said at the opening event of the fourth edition of the event on Thursday in Tbilisi.

The Asian Development Bank has been a partner of the Forum since its establishment. […] This Forum is very important because it strengthens regional cooperation and focuses on how this extraordinary country [Georgia] can develop together with other countries that exist in the Caucasus and Central Asia”, Casali noted.

She also said the Forum was “a good opportunity for discussions” and also to increase contacts between the countries participating in it.

The Vice-President of the ADB also mentioned Georgia’s “extraordinary geopolitical location”, which she said could be “not just a partner but a great partner”.

Over 2,000 delegates and guests from 63 countries from both governmental and private sectors are participating in the international event hosted in the Georgian capital.

Ten thematic panel sessions will be hosted on the first day of the Forum, with the day used for discussions of Georgia’s investment opportunities and B2B meetings.

Founded by Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the first edition of the Forum was hosted in Tbilisi in 2015.
