Georgian central bank, financial sector join global cybersecurity campaign

The National Bank of Georgia and the country’s financial sector have teamed up to join the Cybersecurity Awareness Month global campaign on raising awareness around the issue.
Marked worldwide in October, this year’s edition is running under the theme of #besmarterthanahacker, with the National Bank of Georgia’s FinEdu platform for financial education set to host events with its partners throughout the month, FinEdu said.
The FinEdu also said “almost all leading banks” in the country would join the campaign.
In comments on the campaign, the Cyber Security Coalition organisation said phishing remained a “major problem” for individuals, businesses, organisations and governments.
It also noted the campaign aimed to highlight the importance of remaining vigilant against common security threats.
